Oakwood straddles Hylan Boulevard on the South Shore, between the Oakwood Heights railway station and the marshes that have returned along Oakwood Beach. On November 25, the day before Thanksgiving, legal cannabis shoppers observe Green Wednesday. Oakwood orders are handled by Quality Control Dispensary's Victory Blvd location, with delivery to the neighborhood and pickup for orders placed ahead. Our Green Wednesday deals will be announced in November, and until then the store's daily deals are what's on offer.
Amboy Road, Hylan and the Oakwood Heights Stop
Victory Boulevard is well up the island from Oakwood, so most people here either drive or let the order come to them. By car, Amboy Road leads north to Richmond Road, which continues up past New Dorp and Dongan Hills to Clove Road and on to Victory Boulevard. Hylan Boulevard toward the Staten Island Expressway is the other common way north. The S78 bus runs along Hylan, and the Oakwood Heights SIR station connects you with the rest of the East Shore, but neither drops you at the store's door. Delivery covers Oakwood, so for most households that is the low-effort choice on a holiday eve. Prefer to go yourself? Order ahead, then pick up at the counter between 9am and 10pm on Wednesday. Remember that Staten Island menu prices appear without tax, which is applied at checkout.

Green Wednesday 2026 Deals Are Coming
We haven’t announced our Green Wednesday deals yet. They go live on this page closer to November 25. Both stores run deals every day, so you can start saving now.
Bluebelt, Buyouts and a Changed Shoreline
Oakwood's shoreline tells a big part of its story. After Hurricane Sandy in 2012, Oakwood Beach became one of the first areas where New York State bought out flood-damaged homes, and much of that land has been allowed to return to wetland. Bluebelt drainage and open marsh now cover blocks where bungalows once stood, with Great Kills Park bordering the area to the south. Inland, Oakwood is solidly residential, with detached and semi-attached houses on the streets off Amboy Road and Guyon Avenue, and Monsignor Farrell High School a long-standing presence on Amboy. Thanksgiving week here centers on family homes and the shopping strips along Hylan Boulevard, where the pre-holiday grocery and bakery runs pile up by Wednesday afternoon.
Hosting Ideas for Oakwood Households
Thanksgiving in a family home usually means guests of every age and comfort level, so set a few ground rules for yourself. Keep cannabis products in their original packaging, put them somewhere kids and curious relatives will not stumble on them, and leave them out of the cooking. Adults 21 and over who want to partake can start with a low dose and take it slowly. If you are visiting someone else's house, a sealed product from the QCD Staten Island menu can be a welcome host gift, but only for a host you know enjoys it. Ordering on Tuesday or early Wednesday spares you the holiday rush. Until the Green Wednesday lineup goes up in November, the daily Staten Island deals are the best guide to prices.
About Oakwood
Oakwood is a South Shore neighborhood between New Dorp to the north and Bay Terrace and Great Kills to the south. Hylan Boulevard and Amboy Road are its main roads, and the Oakwood Heights station puts it on the Staten Island Railway. Its waterfront, Oakwood Beach, has largely been returned to marsh since Hurricane Sandy, while Great Kills Park lies just beyond. Neighbors to the south can see Green Wednesday in Great Kills, and our Oakwood page has more.
Responsible Use: Cannabis affects everyone differently. Start with a low dose and increase gradually. Must be 21+ to purchase. Quality Control Dispensary products are NYS-licensed and lab-tested.
