Red Hook is famously hard to get out of without a car: no subway, a couple of bus lines, and the harbor on three sides. That shapes how residents 21 and over should plan for Green Wednesday, the cannabis shopping day before Thanksgiving, which lands on November 25 this year. Quality Control Dispensary's Brooklyn store is on Coney Island Avenue in Brighton Beach, and its Green Wednesday deals will be announced in November. Until then, here's how a Red Hook resident can get there and back, plus some practical holiday planning.
Leaving the Peninsula for Pickup
Because 11231 is not one of QCD's published Brooklyn delivery ZIPs, a Red Hook order means a trip to the counter; the delivery page will tell you if your block happens to be covered. By transit, take the B61 to the F and G at Smith-9th Streets, then ride the F south to West 8th Street and transfer to the Q for Brighton Beach. With a car, the Gowanus Expressway feeds onto the Belt Parkway, which runs along the shore toward Brighton Beach and the store. Placing your order ahead means you won't wait once you get there. The Brooklyn store's Wednesday hours are 8am to 11pm, and the posted Brooklyn prices include tax.

Green Wednesday 2026 Deals Are Coming
We haven’t announced our Green Wednesday deals yet. They go live on this page closer to November 25. Both stores run deals every day, so you can start saving now.
A Waterfront Neighborhood in Late Fall
Red Hook has a character all its own: cobblestone stretches, old brick warehouses, artists' studios and a working waterfront along Erie Basin and the Atlantic Basin. Van Brunt Street is the main strip, with small restaurants, bars and shops, and Louis Valentino Jr. Park and Pier looks straight across the harbor at the Statue of Liberty. The Red Hook Houses, among the largest public housing developments in Brooklyn, are home to a large share of the neighborhood's longtime residents. By late November the summer crowds at the ball fields are gone, and the neighborhood settles into a quieter routine, with the NYC Ferry and the B61 doing much of the work of connecting people to the rest of Brooklyn.
Make One Trip Count
Since getting to Brighton Beach from Red Hook takes some planning, it's worth making a single, well-prepared trip. Choose what you want from the Brooklyn menu a few days early, and check the Brooklyn store's deals now, since the Green Wednesday announcement doesn't come until November. Placing your pickup order ahead and going earlier on the 25th avoids holiday-eve traffic on the Gowanus. If you're hosting adults who are new to cannabis, lean toward low-dose products and give them time before offering more. Keep everything sealed and away from children. If you drive to the store, keep products closed and in the trunk, and never consume before getting behind the wheel or while you're in the car.
About Red Hook
Red Hook sits on a peninsula in northwest Brooklyn, bordered by the Gowanus Canal, the Buttermilk Channel and the Upper New York Bay, and cut off from neighboring Carroll Gardens by the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway. Its mix of low row houses, converted warehouses, public housing and industrial sites gives it a feel unlike anywhere else in the borough. The Brooklyn Cruise Terminal and a NYC Ferry landing serve the waterfront. See our Red Hook page.
Responsible Use: Cannabis affects everyone differently. Start with a low dose and increase gradually. Must be 21+ to purchase. Quality Control Dispensary products are NYS-licensed and lab-tested.
